KKKUK Hosts National Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Libraries

Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak’s Department of Library and Information Science organized a landmark three-day national conference titled “Exploring the Nexus: Artificial Intelligence and Libraries”. Held in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science & Central Library Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal-Upper Dir, Pakistan Librarians Society, and PASTIC Peshawar, the conference aimed to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) with library sciences.

The event drew esteemed speakers and participants from across Pakistan, including representatives from Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, Islamabad, and various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The conference served as a platform for academics, researchers, and industry experts to deliberate on the transformative impact of AI on library services, information management, and knowledge dissemination.

The closing session of the conference was graced by the presence of the Worthy Vice Chancellor of Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak, Prof. Dr. Naseer Uddin, who served as the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahab, Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University and Patron-in-Chief of the event, Dr. Akram Sheikh, Director General of PASTIC, and Prof. Dr. Ali Muhammad Jan, Vice Chancellor of Islamia College University Peshawar, also honored the conference as Guests of Honor during the opening session.

Reflecting on the success of the conference, Dr. Saeed Ullah Jan, Conference Chair, expressed his gratitude to all participants for their active engagement and valuable contributions. He highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing research and innovation in library sciences amidst the rapidly evolving landscape of AI technology.

The conference concluded on a high note with a commitment to further exploration and implementation of AI-driven solutions in library environments, aiming to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and user experience in information services.
