Introduction

The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization, or ORIC, is essential to the university’s development of a research-driven culture. It seeks to improve the relationship between industry and academia by encouraging creativity and the useful use of knowledge. ORIC offers a centralized platform that supports and coordinates research and development activities by centralizing all research operations under one roof. Instead of operating alone, it promotes cooperation between people, divisions, and outside groups with the ultimate goal of generating significant social impact via innovation and pooled knowledge.

Enabling Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak to be the Academic Leader through Research, Innovation and Commercialization for the region’s prosperity.

Welcome to the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) at Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak.

At ORIC-KKKUK, we are committed to fostering a dynamic research environment that aligns with national priorities and addresses local and global challenges. Our mission is to promote high-quality research, encourage innovation, and support commercialization opportunities that contribute to the socio-economic development of our region and beyond.

We actively engage faculty, researchers, and students in meaningful research activities by facilitating access to funding, training, collaborations, and partnerships with industry and academia. We aim to create a research culture that promotes integrity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and impactful outcomes.

ORIC serves as a bridge between academia and industry, helping to translate research into practical solutions and products. Through our support for research grants, startup incubation, intellectual property protection, and knowledge exchange, we empower innovators to take their ideas from lab to market.

Startups

Olive Sip

Specializes in organic olive leaf tea production, promoting health benefits and wellness initiatives, founded by Dr. Muhammad Zubair.

Khushal Mind Care

Offers mental health care services and counselling, aiming to address psychological well-being within the community. It is student let startup that secured 3rd position. The start up is owned by two students namely Ambreen Salam and Sultanat Dilshad of department of Psychology. The start up has already set steps out of university and started collaborating with many organizations such as Telha Foundation.

Joby Joy

Offers development of a range of products from Jojoba berry fruit and leaves. It is also a student let startup owned by Mr Rashid of Management Sciences department. The start up secured 1st position in the Business ideas competition.

Hijab Heaven

A fashion startup promoting modest clothing that aligns with cultural and religious values.

Duck Farming

Focuses on promoting sustainable and profitable duck farming practices.

Mushroom Farming

Encourages organic mushroom cultivation to enhance food security and promote healthy eating practices
