INTRODUCTION
The Bachelor of Science in Renewable Energy Technology and Management is a course developed to produce graduates highly knowledgeable in production and management techniques of Renewable Energy. The areas covered include hydroelectricity, solar power, geothermal, biomass, wind energy, fossil fuel and nuclear energy. The course is geared towards equipping the graduates with skills to enable them to contribute effectively to the growing global effort to enhance sustainable energy sources. It is designed to respond to the growing emphasis on energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and structured to prepare students to understand the scientific principles of renewable energy technology and have the management skills. The graduates will be professionals who will be able to enhance development, extraction and management of energy from renewable sources and promote reduction of dependency on finite energy reserves e.g., oil, coal and gas.
VISION
Our vision is to establish the Renewable Energy Department as a preeminent national hub for renewable energy research, education, and outreach. We envision a future where renewable energy sources power the majority of our energy needs, mitigating the environmental impacts of traditional fossil fuel-based energy generation. Through our pioneering research efforts, we aim to unlock new breakthroughs in renewable energy technology, efficiency, and storage, driving down costs and accelerating the adoption of clean energy solutions worldwide. We aspire to cultivate a diverse and inclusive community of scholars, researchers, students, and industry partners united by a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation. By fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange, we seek to catalyze transformative change and inspire a new generation of leaders dedicated to shaping a brighter, greener future for all.
